GS 3DS game reviews | Nintendogs, SSF4 3D, PES 3D | worse launch than the PS3?

Now like i said, those games up until now on the 3DS, based on everything, were destined to be mediocre at most. That's how it is. They look piss poor anyway, in concept, gameplay and visuals. Ever seen a game like that score above mediocre?

I agree with you. I personally haven't been following the 3DS' launch, because I'll just get one down the line, and it'll have an intriguing library by then.

But, just because people talk about it, doesn't mean they're surprised or completely disappointed.

The launch titles didn't look too good anyway. The only one I was interested in was Rayman, so I'm glad I didn't buy one. I'll pick it up once OOT or MGS3 releases.

Yeah, right now. I dunno how many launch titles were announced for the 3DS, because i won't be buying it, but right there are only 5 scores, the DS has 11 scored, and if you take out the highest ones and leave out 5, it'll look piss poor, like right now.

I guess time will tell? I dunno, i don't know how many titles were announced.

But, just because people talk about it, doesn't mean they're surprised or completely disappointed.

I really think that piracy killed the PSP pretty badly. I mean as soon as piracy started becoming mainstream for that handheld, the hardware sales skyrocketed but the softwares sales went downhill like you wouldn't believe.:( People just didn't want to support that system and the DS simply ensured more revenue.:?

Either way, the PSP has the great library and it can do soo many things, so yeah it didn't flop in my eyes.:)

Those games weren't even destined to be above mediocre, all things considered. Launch titles, with few exceptions, were always mediocre on any platform.

Read Wiki closer. Metroid Prime Hunter: First Hunt was the launch title, and it was basically only a demo.

Yeah the launch games so far have been subpar, Nintendogs and SSFIV could be great though. :D

The AR card games are amazing though, I understand why those won't be reviewed.

Where are the Ridge Racer, SSFIV & Nintedogs + Cats reviews? Those games scored better the 6.5 from most reviewers. You are missing some PS3 launch titles there as well. It's true that Splinter Cell and Steel Diver are bad, but Lego Star Wars 3, SMB and Pilotwings Resort scored higher then that by other critics. Gamespot, as usually just scored them lower. Why are you comparing the PS3 launch with the 3DS? lol!! Wait for the NGP and then compare. Doesn't look like the 3DS will have any AAAE for their launch either, just like the PS3. lol!!

They are nasty scores. It is already worse score wise than thew ps3 launch though, the ps3 got at least 3 8/10s at launch (Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, and Resistance)

Heavenly Sword and Motorstorm weren't launch titles. PS3 didn't get a AAAE game until 15 months after launch though. I think the 3DS will get a AAAE way before that time.

Serously all Nintendo had to do was pay Level 5 enough money to have Layton 5 on launch in US and EU and no one would complain.

Funny to look back on the launch of systems this gen and how everyone was laughing at xbox for having bad launch of games, but in the end imo the 360 had the best launch games. PDZ had a horrible campaign but I really enjoyed the online (attack and defend with 32 players was wicked), Kameo is one of this gens most underrated games, COD2, PGR3 i think also? Or was was PGR2? Cant remember but that was wicked and also Condemened was alot of fun to.

People need to relax though. Good games are coming and the system is selling.

The only thing you could worry about would be if people didn't buy enough software to encourage new games being released on it. Which is an unlikely scenario.

Look at the Dreamcast, it had the best first year for any system in history and it died a year later.

Usally launch titles suck with like 1 or 2 good games. Im guessing SSF4 will be one of them which is kinda sad since its just a direct port.

Gimmick handheld will have gimmick games.

The launch line up is pretty bad but the system itself justified it for me. The Wii had Zelda early plus the "motion controls" and this one has the AR games and the 3D as the reason for me to buy it at launch.:P Not to mention how OoT is coming out very soon and I'm not sure if I'll be able to buy one by it's release.:?

OK, but did anyone actual expect any of this junk to be good? All of those games sounded bad before reviews. The one thing I'm wondering is why so many people buy systems before they're proven with good games? $250 is a lot of money to spend on a system that has, well, not much to show for it at the moment.

That and the obvious hardware upgrade that's going to follow in a year or two, maybe even announced at 2012's E3, and I just don't see the point in getting this system yet. Will it be worth it down the line? Probably. But it isn't worth it right now.

It does look like a poor launch line up but you don't buy a 3DS for those games anyway. You buy it for the "good" exclusives.

Well yeah, the launch list its self is worse than the ps3.. But it doesn't cost 600$ and we know with in just a few months were going to get some really awesome stuff like MGS, Professor Layton, DOA, Resident Evil and Ocarina and Kid Icarus and Mario Kart so honestly its not that big of a deal that the launch line up its self is underwhelming

Im still going to get Street Fighter, Pilot Wings and PES 2011 which looks pretty cool I like the Dynamic Camera

Well I guess what left in the launch lineup that could get 7 or higher are Super Street Fighter 3D, Ridge Racer, and Ghost Recon. Despite the 6.5 I might still get Pilotwings Resort.
